GED Connection Training Module

2. "Now Playing"

Pre-assign participants to one of the following working groups: Social Studies or Science. (You could indicate groups on their nametags.) Set up two TVs/VCRs in two different rooms. Ask participants to divide according to their GED subject. Show the following GED episodes in their entirety - this will take 30 minutes.

-GED Connection Program 17: Themes in U.S. History
This episode explores key events and themes that have made the United States what it is today.

-GED Connection Program 23: Life Science
This episode explores a variety of science topics - from basic biology to genetics to ecosystems.

Reconvene the group. Give participants 15 minutes after the video to write out their reflections and/or questions about the video they've just watched. Ask them to share their written comments about the videos. Record their remarks on a flip chart and post their responses in the room.
