Biography :

Laurindo Marcelo Rafael Nhacune - was born in Maxixe, south of Mozambique on July 18 in 1963. He received a licenciatura degree in teaching Portuguese, second language, in 1995, at Pedagogical University of Maputo. He spent most of his professional career (17 years) teaching basic and secondary schools for children and adults. From 1995 Ð1997 to 1997-1999 he was lidership in basic school and Department Pedagogic Provincial, respectively. From 1983- 1986 to 1999-2000, he worked and has been working at Ministry of Education in the Department of Literacy and Adult Education. He has experience in teaching basic education for children and adult; however, he has little experience regarding policy education in general (Provincial Level), and Adult Education (National Level). Regarding Literacy, and Adult Education he has experience about Reflect Methodology. He is part of the Working Group for implementation of the Strategic Plan of LAE/NFE, and since 1999, he has been the lidership of this group.

Presentation :

Mr. Nhacune's presentation addresses issues of literacy and adult education in Mozambique. Additionally, he has also compiled a report of statistics showing trends in literacy rates over the past years. His report was produced in conjunction with Mr. Francisco.
