5. Reviewing Print Materials

Ask participants to divide into small groups. Give each group a copy of a workbook - or several copies, if possible. Ask participants to focus on the lesson that accompanies Program 2: Matching Skills and Jobs. Invite them to discuss the following questions about the workbook:

Invite the small groups to share the results of their conversations with the larger group. This would be a good time to initiate a discussion about adapting resources to meet specific student and program needs. No matter how "well done" a resource is, teachers will always have to adapt the resource to some degree. Discuss the differences between product-driven lessons and student goal-driven lessons.
